Bonino Beginnings

Apologies for the lack of a match report for the Asiago game - I was in hospital on Monday and needed to rest up on Tuesday evening. I'll do another short one some time this week, possibly alongside the one for Graz tonight.

For now, Nick Bonino has arrived!

What does this mean for the team?

- Bonino was never a high scorer in the NHL, but that doesn't mean he won't be at this level.

- He was a standout defensive centre. Will he be able to teach our players to be more responsible in that regard? It'll be interesting to track his effect on the average goals conceded and goals scored.

- Will he be going straight on the first line? Coach Karhula liked having a defensive centre on the top line last year, with Bičevskis. Does that mean Kale is our 2C? Tomaževič could go back to wing, if Bičevskis and Beričič stick at 3C and 4C. In this case, I assume Červeny's temporary contract doesn't get extended. How would that look?

MAHKOVEC - BONINO - LAVOIE

SABOLIČ - KERBASHIAN - TOMAŽEVIČ

ZAJC - BIČEVSKIS - SIMŠIČ

SODJA - BERIČIČ - MEHLE

(Kapel and Kumanović in reserve; Pance and Červeny out injured)

That's a pretty saucy lineup, I'm sure you'll agree. Hopefully he's playing tonight. However, it would make sense for a home debut and a grand reveal on Friday, so perhaps that is the more likely option.
